David wanted a good Strat sound, but didn't like the Fender necks. The Jim Reed guitar has a Gibson-like neck feel and is much more suited. Although the original pickups and controls were OK, David upgraded it to full Fender electronics - now we're talking!
It has a maple top which looks really cool.....
It's about to be upgraded with an L R Baggs piezo pickup.
It's strung with Elixir Nanoweb 9-46.
