Laura's Profile

Laura started singing at school with the choir and has been singing in local bands since 1996 infact she is a founder member of Best Served Chilled. Laura stayed in the band until 2002 then announced well guys its been fun but now Im off to travel the world. After the various countries; Domincian Republic, Puerto Rico, Miami, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, New York, Hawaii, Spain etc. etc. Laura then spent six months renovating a house in France.

Eventually returning to the UK Laura formed a band in Plymouth, Devon called 'AppleJam'. After a few gigs in Plymouth AppleJam hit the big time (well in her eyes anyway) when the band performed twice in the Cavern, Liverpool....oh yeah!!!. The band split shortly after like all good promising bands do.

Laura then joined a duo called 'Vida Loca' in 2005 where she performed around Plymouth and Cornwall until 2006 when she jetted off again, this time to travel around Australia for a year to check out whether you really do have to wear hats with corks hanging off them and to see if she could master the language (in more detail this time), entering various karaoke competitions along the way to fund her trip.

After Laura's visa ran out she returned to Cornwall and re-joined Best Served Chilled along with Barry and Dave for 'BSC - the revival' where she should be.

Her musical tastes are varied and she copes equally well with slow ballads through to heavier rock numbers. Although Laura plays flute, she's so far managed to escape having to play it live - your day will come Laura! She has also been known to play the guitar but prefers to leave that to Dave...for the time being!

Other than Best Served Chilled, Laura has a passion for salsa dancing and scuba diving (although only in mediterranean waters - the diving that is)!

But above all, Laura loves to sing. Best Served Chilled has given her an opportunity to sing all kinds of music. Songs like 'Other side of the world' by KT Tunstall; 'Lady Marmalade' by Patti Labelle all require a vocal range and ability beyond the average singer. Laura makes them sound easy.

Laura has attracted a huge following from her male fans but curiously the position of President of the Laura Hanson Fan Club is currently vacant. Laura will be handing out applications at their next gig. So if you know of any good looking, salsa loving guys (they're not all gay, are they?) willing to take on this task, please let Dave and Barry know so they can scare off any potential interlopers coz last time that happened she took off to travel around the world.
